EHS Manager




The site EHS Manager is a designated role within the organization that serves as subject matter site lead for all applicable environmental health and safety requirements for our client's manufacturing sites.. This position is also responsible for developing and implementing organizational safety programs.  This position will work with sites to have frequent site inspections of workplaces, and collaborate to minimize or eliminate hazards from processes, such as incorrect working methods, and materials.


•       Assure compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations pertaining to Health, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene.

•       Clearly communicate strategic objectives and priorities of Health and Safety and Industrial Hygiene to management members, gain commitment, and provide periodic status reports to meet goals and the timely correction of hazardous conditions or procedures.

•       Ensure, through a planned audit program, the facility compliance of all operations with OSHA, NIOSH, local regulations and Corporate Occupational Health and Safety policies/guidelines.

•       Advise Engineering and manufacturing management during the development of construction projects, and in day-to-day work initiatives as they impact environmental and safety areas.

•       Plan and coordinate major initiatives impacting employee safety and industrial hygiene, such as risk management and life safety.

•       Design and implement facility-wide training efforts and recommend actions needed to achieve high quality programs and necessary compliance with Corporate Federal, state and local requirements. 

•       Represent the facility in communication and negotiation with Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies including, but not limited to EPA, OSHA, NIOSH.

•       Utilize internal resources, corporate specialists, and contract services in the development of programs and services that positively impact employee safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and safety areas.

•       Maintain a high level of knowledge on all existing and proposed standards, codes, and laws as they impact employee safety, health and industrial hygiene.

•       Complete government reports and schedules as required complying with OSHA and local regulatory requirements.  

•       Write operating instructions for production process changes; ensure new equipment is installed according to standards and protocols. Assist in and coordinate IOQ/PQ and validation processes as required.

•       Write and execute protocols, prepare summary reports, coordinate modification change control, and maintain validation documentation.

Knows and complies with current Good Manufacturing Practices at all times.


SuSupport implementation of lean manufacturing projects including, but not limited to, inventory Kanban system, standard work development, Value Stream Mapping, 5S projects, SMED events.

Support and implement capital projects aimed at reducing overall operational costs and increasing operational efficiencies.


Required Qualifications



•       -Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other pertinent regulations.

•       -OSHA 30 Hr Training

•       -HAZWOPER 8 Hr FROL

•       -Accident Investigations & RCA Training

•       -Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodology is needed as well as accident investigation, root cause analysis.

•       -Strong leadership abilities and ability to be vocal and interactive with employees.

•       -Must possess good organizational skills as well as be knowledgeable with the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.




•     - BS or MS in an EH&S related discipline, Engineering, Occupational Safety, Occupational Health or equivalent preferred.

•      -Experience working in manufacturing/distribution environments.
